Clay Run is a stunning Tanzanian coffee that showcases the vibrant, sophisticated flavors of East African beans. Grown by small cooperative farmers in the Mbeya region and roasted to a delicate medium-light profile, this coffee delivers the bright acidity, floral aromatics, and fruit-forward flavors that make Tanzanian coffee legendary.

What Makes It Special:

This coffee comes from small cooperative farmers in the Mbeya region of Tanzania, where beans are grown at impressive altitudes (1200-1900 meters) in unique clay mineral soil. The combination of high altitude, mineral-rich soil, and Tanzania's ideal climate creates beans with exceptional brightness and complexity. The Bourbon and Kent varieties are fully washed and dried on raised beds, preserving the coffee's delicate fruit and floral notes.

Flavor Experience:

The aroma is enchanting - delicate jasmine flowers with hints of fresh fruit. The first sip reveals bright, crisp flavors of ripe pear and sweet strawberry, with elegant floral notes of jasmine dancing throughout. The acidity is lively and refreshing, like biting into a perfectly ripe pear. The medium-light body is silky and refined, with a clean, lingering finish that invites another sip.

Why Tanzanian Coffee is Special:

Tanzania produces some of East Africa's most sophisticated coffees. The high-altitude growing regions, volcanic soil, and careful processing create coffees known for their bright acidity, complex fruit flavors, and wine-like characteristics. Tanzanian coffee is often compared to its famous neighbor, Kenyan coffee, but with its own unique personality.

The Clay Mineral Difference:

The clay mineral soil in the Mbeya region is rich in nutrients and provides excellent drainage, creating ideal conditions for coffee cultivation. This unique terroir contributes to the coffee's distinctive flavor profile and exceptional quality.

Best Brewing Methods:

Pour-over, Chemex, or AeroPress to highlight the bright, fruity, and floral notes. This coffee rewards careful brewing - use water just off boil and take your time to extract all the delicate flavors. Enjoy it black to experience the full spectrum of fruit and floral notes.
